KRIEGO! coins

“Money for nothing and the chicks for free!”

“Unfortunately, this Dire Straits classic is not played here.”

Because nothing here comes for nothing. Every artwork carries something far more valuable than material worth: invested life-time and energy. Time is the only true currency we own—finite, irreversible, and constantly passing. When an artwork is created, time is transformed. When it is collected, this game becomes shared. Money does not buy time, but it allows time and energy to meet across moments. Together, we play. Together, we create value.

Life time. Energy. Focus. Risk.

All invested to create something that did not exist before.

At birth, we are gifted time.

But only the certainty of death turns this gift into a scarce resource—and gives it its immeasurable value. Life time is the most precious thing we own. In fact, it is the only thing we truly own.

Time is highly inflationary

Time passes—whether we want it to or not. It cannot be stored, paused, or reclaimed. It is a wave: you can ride it, or you can be overwhelmed by it.

Life is not about reaching a destination.

With death in sight, life is not about reaching the destination. That destination is predetermined. The real adventure happens along the way.

Life is a game - art is a way to play

Money cannot buy additional time. But it is a practical medium that allows time and energy to be shared across different moments.

As long as I create an art object, it is my personal game. A creative exploration into which I invest time and energy. The moment you acquire one of these objects, you enter the game. From that moment on, your energy becomes part of the work.

You give the object its necessary aura. You turn it into art.
All the time and energy required for you to acquire it condense within it.

Art has its price. Because only then can we play together.

Together, we create art.

Bring a little KRIEGO! into your life.

Or let it be.

KRIEGO! coins

Money is anything widely accepted as a medium of exchange for goods and services, a unit of account, and a store of value.

KRIEGO! coins become money because they are a limited, collectible art currency that can ultimately be exchanged for artwork.

No, not in terms of their purpose. Each new artwork has a fixed value in KRIEGO! coins for which it can be exchanged.

There is no exchange or direct conversion rate, so they cannot be speculated on directly. However, KRIEGO! coins represent a form of participation in the KRIEGO! art brand. To the extent that the brand’s value increases, the value of the KRIEGO! coins rises as well, since they can be exchanged for other KRIEGO! artifacts at any time, similar to an option.

Since KRIEGO! coins are a medium of exchange for KRIEGO! artifacts, annual coin issuance is limited to the equivalent value of artworks created that year. The goal is to ensure that no more coins circulate than can ultimately be exchanged for art.

KRIEGO! coins are the smallest units of KRIEGO! artifacts—already limited and signed art objects. Their raw material is trash transformed into art. Bottle caps, designed and industrially produced to seal beverages for a fleeting moment of enjoyment, are often carelessly discarded. Left to age in their environment, they catch my eye during my walks, fueled by a childlike fascination. I carefully select a few of these resources. Each chosen piece is then transformed into a KRIEGO! coin: limited, signed, and numbered. In this way, industrially manufactured trash becomes art.
